Confederation Boulevard in Ottawa is the city's ceremonial route and encompasses sites of national cultural, political and ceremonial significance such as Parliament Hill, the Cenotaph, the National Gallery, 24 Sussex Drive and Rideau Hall. Previous wayfinding was for vehicular traffic only. A pedestrian wayfinding system was deemed necessary.
